the colours of change...
Africa on Canvas buys paintings at fair market value directly from artists in Tanzania & donates all net proceeds from the resale to The Uganda Partnership Association, a Calgary organization working with widows in Uganda to develop projects that empower women & children to lead the way in changing their communities.

The new paintings from Said Ray arrived today and will make their big debut Saturday at Afrikaday! The first two paintings from Said sold on their first day at Bluesfest and these next ones are just as spectacular. The colors are amazing!
If you don't have anything planned for this beautiful weekend why not head down to the 2010 Calgary Blues Festival taking place at Shaw Millennium Park.
There's exciting news on the horizon. Africa on Canvas and The Uganda Partnership Association are joining forces.

The latest order of paintings has arrived from Tanzania and not a moment too soon for the Calgary Sun & Salsa Festival on Sunday, July 25. Check out the 'In Stock' page to browse through all the latest selections.

Hello everyone! It seems like such a long time since I have given you an update.
I am happy to announce that Africa on Canvas will be at the Lilac Festival this upcoming Sunday, May 30th. Our location this year will be the same as years past, between 15th and 17th Avenue on 4th Street, directly across the street from the Rose & Crown Pub - and as you can see in the photo above quite close to Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.
A number of new artist profiles have been added to the 'Artist' area of the website.
If you're looking to learn about the various Tingatinga styles, see who's working at the different store locations, or if you have a painting and you want to meet that specific artist be sure to check out this page for updates. Of course, if there's an artist that you are specifically interested in knowing more about and they are not on the site please let me know and I can ask for an update.

Just in time for Christmas Africa on Canvas presents a selection of custom designer wreaths. All 24" wreaths are $100 and the net proceeds will go directly to Africa on Canvas. In the upcoming weeks before Christmas Africa on Canvas will have artwork displays at the following venues:

Better late than never, so they say. The final 10 paintings from the last order have arrived and have been added to the website. One has already been snapped up, so that leaves 9 for you to choose from.

Check out the new selection of paintings added to the website. Several new paintings including the one above are from the sunny Island of Zanaibar. Happy browsing!
