Africa on Canvas buys paintings at fair market value directly from artists in Tanzania & donates all net proceeds from the resale to The Uganda Partnership Association, a Calgary organization working with widows in Uganda to develop projects that empower women & children to lead the way in changing their communities.

I have to say that I am excited by the positive response I've received on the project early this year and I am looking forward to an even more successful 2009! Our first outdoor festival will be the 4th Street Lilac Festival on May 31, 2009.
And in other good news, I received confirmation that Africa on Canvas was able to assist Enyoratta E Ngai Girls' Secondary school in hiring two new teachers for the 2009 school year. Sister Denis has been struggling to find teachers willing to work in the remote region of Tanzania, so these teachers will be a very welcome addition to the school.
